The Italian Society for Chaos and Complexity is a scientific association whose aim and objective is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and cross-fertilization between scientists and researchers interested in the theory of Chaos and Complexity.
Such an aim is achieved via the organization of schools, workshops and conferences. The society also runs mailing lists and a periodic newsletter.
The themes of interest include the modeling and identification of dynamical systems, bifurcation theory, the analysis and control of chaotic dynamics, the study of synchronization and self-organizing phenomena, the emergence of spatial patterns, neural networks and optimization and the theory of complex adaptive systems. Applications range from thermodynamics to ecology, optics, physiology, mechanics and neuroscience and include all those areas of science, humanities and engineering where the concept of complexity is relevant.
