AIMS AND SCOPES

Smooth and non-smooth maps are a burgeoning field of research for both mathematicians and economists. From a methodological point of view, the attention is directed to the study of bifurcations, the structure of the attractors and the global dynamics of nonlinear maps. As far as economic applications are concerned, nonlinear dynamics emerge naturally in a wide variety of models such as cobweb models, oligopoly games with adaptive dynamics, evolutionary games and population dynamics, heterogeneous asset pricing models, business cycle models and macroeconomic growth models.

The purpose of the workshop is to highlight current trends of research and future perspectives in this field.

The workshop is co-sponsored by the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano, the Università di Torino, and the Politecnico di Milano.
